Internship - Graduate - Board Services

Overview:

Northwest Permanente, P.C. (NWP) is a self-governed, physician led, multi-specialty group of over 1,500 physicians, surgeons, and clinicians, caring for over 600,000 members in Oregon and Southwest Washington. We invite you to apply for our 2019 summer internship program. We have a full-time internship available beginning June 17, 2019 in our Board Services Department.  This temporary internship position is scheduled for 10 weeks and is not to exceed 6 months. Graduate level internship work may include in-depth research projects and documentation; complex data analysis and graphs; writing and designing new collateral marketing materials; assisting with audits; developing and executing surveys for internal or external stakeholders; completing process improvement audits.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1) Coorindate the reimagining of the NWP Board Orientation and Onboarding process. This includes updating the current BOD orientation manual, creating a BOD calendar/tracking system, assist in coordinating events pertaining to this work (i.e. BOD meet and greet/candidate forum), assist in BOD library/educational development and establish a process for digital learning (on iPads vs. hard cover books). Partner with BOD services on the communication planning and development (which may include drafting communications, video prep, or other mediums) to support this work and working on the NWP BOD webpages to refine and help us improve the content, accessibility and ease for shareholders. Create online orientation manual with links to training and recommended learning for any gaps.This would provide the basis for the BOD’s ongoing educational development.

 

2) With this BOD transition and the BOD Committee Optimization goal in 2018, there is a need for a policy tracking mechanism, timelines and organization for BOD policies.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A graduate student of any age or background who has been accepted into or is currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program (e.g., MBA, MHA, MPH, MSW, etc.)

PAY RATE:  $24.47/hr

 

All external hires are required to pass a pre-employment background screen.
