Cardiothoracic Surgeon - LocumsOffice: Mt Talbert Medical Ofc
We are currently seeking an outstanding locums cardiovascular surgeon to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery program which began in Spring of 2009 when we internalized all cardiovascular care previously contracted to a local heart center. Since then, the case volumes have grown steadily to about 950 per year with 500 cardiac, 100 TAVR/MitraClip/TEVAR, and 350 non-cardiac thoracic surgeries. We perform all types of adult cardiac surgeries including VAD, except heart transplantation. The program is a fully integrated practice setting in which patients receive all of the cardiovascular care at one facility. Inpatient care for increasingly complex patients is delivered in a purpose-built, state-of-the-art center including a newly-built Hybrid OR. Both inpatient and outpatient practice will emphasize collaboration among cardiovascular, vascular and thoracic surgery, cardiology, anesthesiology, hospital medicine and interventional radiology services.
Our new associate will need to be board-certified/board-eligible and with minimum of 3 years of clinical experience. He/she will be one of four cardiac surgeons in the department and will need demonstrated superb surgical and patient care skills, compassion for patients and their families, refined communication skills and a collaborative problem-solving style. In addition to having excellent outcomes in CABG and valve repairs/replacement surgeries, those with additional fellowship training and/or expertise in complex thoracic aortic surgery/TEVAR, VAD/heart failure surgery, ICU care, and/or adult congenital surgery will be given favorable consideration. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the premier heart centers in the Northwest with an on-going 3-star STS quality ratings in CABG, AVR, and MVR categories.
Our integrated health care model incorporates sophisticated electronic medical record systems that further strengthen our collegial professional practice environment. This includes our well attended weekly multi-disciplinary cardiac cath conference.
