We are seeking a Physician Director of Permanente Advocate Resources to join our growing medical group. The Physician Director provides leadership and oversight of Permanente Advocate Resources (PAR) programs that serve Northwest Permanente and Permanente Dental Associates administrative staff and families. PAR offers employee assistance programs and direct clinical services and consultation. Additionally, PAR works with state health regulatory boards and licensing services in Oregon and Washington.  

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide leadership and oversight of PAR programs
  • Administrative/clinical responsibilities include availability for on call consultation
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff
  • Provide leadership and coordination of services
  • Oversee the actualization of goals and objectives for programs in line with the mission of NWP
  • Oversee program development and design, implementation of enhancements
  • Ensure appropriate data collection and tracking; ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures and external compliance
  • Facilitate consistent standards for patient centered care
  • Oversees budgets, data collection and tracking, contract requirements and program outcomes
  • Participate in strategic planning for the ongoing development of the program
  • Maintain a creative, team-building, cooperative approach to job performance and seek to bring a constructive, problem-solving orientation to all tasks
  • Perform tasks and responsibilities in a complete and timely manner, complying with program policies and standards and conforming to scheduling requirements of this job description and program

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current board certified Northwest Permanente Medical physician with a psychiatric residency 
  • Minimum ten (1O) years post-residency clinical psychiatric
  • Minimum three (3) years administrative experience
  • Compliance with NWP bylaws, policies and procedures
  • Advanced leadership, project management experience and consultation skill
  • Exceptional organizational skills with reliability and consistency in work performance
  • Ability to work with minimal to moderate supervision
  • Focus on good judgment with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task with the capability to learn quickly and integrate efficiently
  • Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and appearance
  • Exercise discretion and professional judgment
  • Actively strive to upgrade professional skills through engaging in appropriate professional training and experience
  • Maintaining the strictest of confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including public speaking
  • Knowledge and experience with health professional regulatory boards

REQUIRED LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION

  • Medical and DEA licenses in both Oregon and Washington
  • Medical physician board certified with a psychiatric residency

PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum ten (1O) years post-residency clinical psychiatric
  • 5-years of administrative experience at Northwest Permanente
  • Previous experience overseeing program design and development, implementation and operations
  • Psychiatrist with experience working with physicians as clients
  • Addiction medicine experience
  • Clinical work experience
  • Knowledge and experience with an Employee Assistance Program
