Northwest Permanente, P.C. is currently seeking Board Certified or Eligible Family Medicine physician to join our growing medical group as a core faculty member of our Family Medicine Residency Program. The Kaiser Permanente Northwest Family Medicine Core Faculty will be a practicing physician within the Northwest Permanente Medical Group. The Northwest Permanente Medical Group is the exclusive provider contracting with the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest. Collectively, the two organizations are known as Kaiser Permanente Northwest (KPNW).
The appointee for this full-time position will provide teaching and academic duties for the OHSU (Oregon Health Science University) Family Medicine Residency program and provide direct patient care and supervision of residents at our Beaverton Medical Office. The position requires an academic appointment at OHSU, and the appointee must meet applicable standards for academic and scholarly achievement. The appointee will have a dual reporting relationship to KPNW and the Department of Family Medicine at OHSU. Responsibilities include teaching, supervising and advising residents, curriculum development, assisting the KP Associate Residency Director in the operational function of the residency, and the full range of professional responsibilities of Northwest Permanente Medical Group physicians.
Specifically, the Kaiser Permanente Core Faculty member will provide direct patient care to patients at least 6 half days per week in clinic and participate on the Family Medicine Inpatient Services. Although not required, the ideal candidate will have 2 years’ experience in a residency teaching program and be able to obtain full privileges in low risk obstetrical care and care of the newborn. An average of two days per week will be protected for supervising residents in clinic, faculty duties, scholarship/research and program development.
Qualified candidates will have an MD or DO degree, graduate medical education in an ACGME-accredited Family Practice residency, and BC in Family Medicine. Preference will be given to applicants with “full-scope” practice, including inpatient, maternity care and ambulatory care. Prior residency teaching experience preferred.
Compensation and benefits will be paid by Northwest Permanente Medical Group which is based on a salary scale. Additional compensation in the form of a bonus may be paid out at the end of the year for service, quality and access performance.
