This role is for a Physician in Charge to manage our Care Essentials clinics located in Portlands Pearl District and a new, second Hawthorne clinic opening late Spring of 2018. Northwest Permanente, P.C. is currently seeking Board Certified or Eligible Family Practice physician to join our growing medical group.  This role is for a Physician in Charge to manage our Care Essentials clinics located in Portland’s Pearl District and a new, second Hawthorne clinic opening late Spring of 2018. The Care Essentials clinics are designed to offer a convenience care option for our members and for non-members within our community, meeting low-acuity needs while also providing access for well child visits and adult wellness visits.

The Physician in Charge works collaboratively with physician providers and administrative staff to oversee all aspects of clinical operations and coordination including personnel management and team development, budget management and execution, planning and organizing, communication, personal leadership and development.

The Care Essentials Physician in Charge role will include:

  • Oversight of both the Pearl and Hawthorne clinics, including Affiliated Clinicians (NPs and PAs)
  • Supervision of all Family Medicine Full Spectrum Physician Assistants within the Care Essentials program
  • Monitoring of regional performance measures and clinical outcomes
  • Regular review of service scores for the both clinics as well as individual clinicians to ensure an excellent care experience
  • Support for improvements in the cost structure of the clinics focused on access utilization and the use of referrals and ancillary services
  • Supervision of the clinician team, including performance reviews, mentoring, coaching, performance management and acknowledgement
